10 Highlights of 2005

Monday, January 2, 2006

I must say goodbye to the wonderful and disastrous 2005 with my ten favorite highlights of 2005. In chronological order:

  1. Philippine Airlines - These were troublesome times. I knew my intuition was right. It was too late. My last days were days of reckoning. The days that I needed to show that they were wrong in my decision.

  2. Dengue - The only sickness for the year was one heck of a rare one. My platelet count dropped down to 10. I left the hospital without transfusion. It was a great way to calm me down from the previous highlight.
  3. The great hiatus - After the previous highlight, I needed one heck of a rest, lasting for one month. I got to be a hermit for a month. Don't you guys just wish you get dengue?
  4. The return of Sir Jon - The best way to bounce back from defeat is to start where you have already built upon. I have built my reputation well for me to return to my former employer (Informatics), with a generous promotion and benefits!
  5. The year of the Linux - If there was one thing that clearly defines this year from the other 23 years of my existence, it's definitely Linux. I'm the mean green downloading and burning Linux freak. I also got to experience the first Philippine LinuxWorld Convention that was sponsored by Microsoft. Linux has let me go to other places.
  6. Cebu - I must thank Linux again for this, for it's my first Philippine domestic journey outside Luzon. It was only a two days and night stay but I look forward visit other places and meet my relatives again. Need I say that my flight was courtesy of Philippine Airlines.
  7. Alpha - Alpha has made Sundays very productive for the people of Alabang Life Club. I also got to personally share some of my life to the audience.
  8. iStudioWorks - Though it did not reach stratospheric heights, it was a beginning of a new business partnership. For 2006, I'm sure that we will really looking forward to really focus on its realization.
  9. Can We Still Be Friends - "Let's admit we made a mistake but, can we still be friends? Heartbreak's never easy to take but, can we still be friends?"
  10. JoRap's World - 2005 was the start of my real blog. I'm really wondering if people get to read this. For my quiet fans, I'd like to thank you for checking it out. Which started out as an exercise in maintaining my power in the written word and creativity, is now a full-fledged expressive outlet.

I say goodbye to 2005 and cherish its wonderful memories. Hello 2006!
