Abide in Me

Evergreen Created Jun 20, 2026 · Updated Jun 20, 2026

Abide in me = stay connected to Christ the way branches stay in the vine - apart from him you can do nothing; fruit comes from union (John 15:1-11).

Abiding is ongoing dependence, not a one-time conversion event. Pruning hurts but serves fruitfulness. Under Free Grace, fruit doesn't earn the branch's place in the vine - the branch bears fruit because it's connected. Self-powered “fruit” without abiding is the dead wood Jesus removes - same trap as Compounding when I treat spiritual growth as pure self-stacked effort.

Extends Free Grace. Contradicts Compounding when I treat spiritual growth as pure self-stacked effort.
