- Under Free Grace, copying His words is not earning heaven - it is learning how the Son talked to His Father.

Thanksgiving and Trust
- Thank Father for Revelation - thanks the Father for hiding truth from the proud and revealing it to little children (Luke 10:21)
At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.Luke 10:21 NASB1995
- Thank Father at Lazarus - thanks the Father aloud at the tomb so the crowd would believe (John 11:41-42)
So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me.”John 11:41-42 NASB1995
- Glorify Your Name - facing the cross, asks the Father to glorify His name (John 12:28)
Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”John 12:28 NASB1995
Surrender and Intercession
- Not My Will - Gethsemane: “not what I will, but what You will” (Matthew 26:39; Mark 14:36; Luke 22:42)
And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”Matthew 26:39 NASB1995
And He was saying, “Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.”Mark 14:36 NASB1995
saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”Luke 22:42 NASB1995
- Pray for His Own - high priestly prayer - for Himself, the twelve, and all future believers
From the Cross
- Father Forgive Them - “Father, forgive them” (Luke 23:34)
But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.Luke 23:34 NASB1995
- Into Your Hands - “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit” (Luke 23:46)
And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last.Luke 23:46 NASB1995
Matthew and Mark also record Psalm 22:1 on the cross - “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” - a cry of dereliction, not a separate hub note here.
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning.Psalm 22:1 NASB1995
