Leadership

Created Sep 18, 2026, 12:23 AM · Updated Sep 18, 2026, 12:23 AM

Leadership is owning direction, pace, and care when people look to you - title optional.

Key Concept

  • Care means the people counting on you still feel seen when the pressure spikes.
  • When people look to you, they need someone to set direction - not just a name on the org chart.
  • Pace matters as much as direction - calm urgency beats either panic or drift.
  • Leadership Is Influence is the test - if nobody follows, you are taking a walk; scripture cases live in 21 Laws of Leadership in the Bible.

Level 1 - Recognize

Leadership is keeping the people who depend on you feeling noticed when pressure spikes, not only keeping deliverables on track.

Level 2 - Explain

Like a captain who checks the crew when the storm rises, direction matters less than trust when load increases.

Level 3 - Use

Under deadline pressure, name one person on your team and confirm they still feel seen before you chase the next milestone.

Level 4 - Connect

When people feel invisible under load, trust erodes. Care under pressure keeps deliverables from hollowing out the team.

Level 5 - Create

Extend care under pressure through Servant Leadership and Duty of Care - protection they should feel when roles flip.

Examples

  • Our line cook never got named manager - glad the hood alarm night showed calm voice, direction, and care under pressure.
  • The blackout hit our block and one neighbor set pace - she checked on elders and handled the generator when people looked to her.

Gilas Naturalization Can't Be the Whole Program

Naturalization can't be the whole Gilas program. It is not a ban on imports. Douthit and Blatche helped World Cups. Development is the long fix.

OpenAI says it will stop serving models in Cursor after the SpaceX deal. I code personal projects on Composer 2.5 and will not use Claude for that work. Cursor has until November to find replacements.

Celebrate After - Or Experience Excellence at Home

Filipino sports love usually runs celebrate-after: excellence abroad, parade at home. Dec 8 is an exhibition match in a huge arena, Alex live on Philippine soil, not a tour stop or parade after the fact. I will probably watch from the couch.

One Point Is Enough for the Best Pre-Slam Show

The AO One Point Slam is sudden-death tennis with board-game tension: one point, rock-paper-scissors, amateurs vs pros. An amateur won in 2026. It returns for AO 2027 with a million-dollar prize and a grassroots path from local clubs to Rod Laver.

Why I Look Past the Lyrics When Picking Worship Songs

Song selection is teaching by repetition. A pastor protects the flock, including the follow-up when people look further on their own.
