- RACI assigns Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed per decision or deliverable - one A only.
- One Owner Per Commitment is the standup version; Stakeholder Mapping finds the humans first.
- Two accountable people means nobody accountable when the date slips.
Level 1 - Recognize
RACI means one accountable person per decision plus who executes, advises, and gets told.
Level 2 - Explain
Like a fire drill roster - everyone knows who pulls the alarm vs who runs the exit, not a crowd at the panel.
Level 3 - Use
For the next launch, write RACI on go-live, rollback, and client comms - one name in the A column each.
Level 4 - Connect
Complete the Cycle needs the A on the recap; Accountability is the leadership root without the matrix jargon.
Level 5 - Create
Keep RACI on one page per initiative - update when roles shift, not a fifty-row spreadsheet nobody reads.
Examples
- Glad launch RACI named me accountable for client email and the dev accountable for deploy - no we owned comms.
- Committee run launch had four accountable people - slip happened because everyone assumed someone else sent the notice.
