Render Unto Caesar
Render unto Caesar = pay lawful civic obligations - taxes, duties owed the state - while reserving ultimate worship for God alone (Matthew 22:21).
The coin bore Caesar's image; give it back to him. You bear God's image; give yourself to Him. Jesus avoids both revolutionary tax refusal and idolizing Rome. Seek the Kingdom First still ranks the kingdom above every earthly master, but that doesn't excuse dodging legitimate civic responsibility.
Extends Seek the Kingdom First. Contradicts Treasure in Heaven when I treat the state as ultimate lord.
