Standard operating procedures = short written steps for work that repeats — deploys, incidents, onboarding — so the team doesn't improvise when the clock is loud.

Example

The restaurant opening checklist lives on a clipboard because memory fails when the door unlocks at eleven. Guests were already seated when the new cook ran the sauce steps off the card - same as a recipe when you can't invent under pressure.
