The Father's Food

Jesus said His food was doing the Father's will - obedience was sustenance, not a side task.

• John 5:19 and 8:28 repeat the pattern - nothing on His own initiative, only what pleases the Father.

• Under Free Grace, the Father's will is not a wage for eternal life - it is the meal that nourishes a life already His.

Level 1 - Recognize

The Father's food is Jesus saying obedience to the Sender filled Him more than eating bread. My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me.

Level 2 - Explain

John repeats the pattern - nothing on His own initiative, only what pleases the Father - will over appetite when duty and comfort collide.

Level 3 - Use

When duty and comfort collide, ask what the Sender's will is before you treat hunger as the loudest signal.

Level 4 - Connect

Under Free Grace, the Father's will is not a wage for eternal life - it is the meal that nourishes a life already His.

Level 5 - Create

Grateful Obedience obeys from thanks; Take Up Your Cross denies self daily - this names what filled Him when bread did not.

• I treated obedience like homework after fun stuff - glad the Father's food meant hard talk was the main course.
• Skipped the awkward apology because I was hungry and tired - Jesus finished the Samaritan woman's story before lunch because the Father's errand was food.
