The Golden Rule

Evergreen Created Jun 20, 2026 · Updated Jun 20, 2026

The Golden Rule = treat others how you want to be treated - Jesus called this the Law and Prophets summed up (Matthew 7:12).

It's positive and active: do unto others, not merely avoid doing harm. The check is experiential - how would I want to be spoken to, helped, forgiven, included? That sets the floor for every interaction. Free Grace keeps it from becoming a merit system: I treat others well because Christ treated me well first.

Extends Free Grace. Contradicts Love Your Enemies when I only apply it to people who already treat me well.
