The Narrow Way
The narrow way = enter by the narrow gate - the road to life is hard and few find it; the broad road to destruction is easy and crowded (Matthew 7:13-14).
In Free Grace terms, the narrow gate is Free Grace in Christ - not the broad road of self-righteousness, religion-by-works, or moral performance as salvation. Jesus closes the Sermon on the Mount with a fork: not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” enters (Matthew 7:21-23). Those are false professors who never truly believed, not believers who stumbled. Discipleship on the narrow path is costly - cross-bearing, enemy-love, truth-telling - but distinct from how eternal life is received: free, by faith, through grace.
Extends Free Grace. Contradicts The Golden Rule when I take the comfortable path because everyone else does.
