Break the Escalation Cycle

When someone comes in hot on email or Slack, I don't pour fuel on it - absorb the hit without escalating the thread.

I stop running a mental spreadsheet of every slight - forgive from the heart and keep boundaries where needed.

The test isn't the all-hands slide - it's the ticket I close correctly when nobody will audit it this week.

Charisma and credentials aren't enough - I watch what a process, vendor, or leader actually produces over time.

I drop the qualifiers and the oversell - if I commit, my word should stand without extra padding to sound credible.

I open the priority - the one thing that actually matters this week - before Slack sets the agenda for the day.

If someone on the team still has something against me, I go fix that before the big performance conversation or project handoff.

The leader who helps the team win beats the leader who grabs the title - greatness is service, not status.

What I learn on a project should leave the team better off - docs, handoffs, and teaching beat private bookmark hoarding.
